A Personal Note…Remember to Remember

This may sound like one of those reminders from your mother, I have been told by my children and in a few instances by members of our team that I may nag like someone’s mother on occasion.   Take time to remember the men and women who are serving all over the world to protect our freedoms and our way of life.  I do not know the feeling of loss and grief that comes from losing a mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife, or friend to war.  I do know that without their sacrifices and the sacrifices of those that came before them my life would be much different.  If we can put aside the politics for the moment it is truly about the people.  It is about them standing up and saying I will take on the burden of protecting you and yes I am willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for you.

In Churches, synagogues and mosques all over this country the men and women of our armed services are being prayed for.  Donations of clothes and money are being raised for their families home here in America.  My wife chooses to give blood to the American Red Cross imaging that it may contribute and end up saving a life for someone who has served or will serve to protect our freedom.

It doesn’t matter how you choose to extend that sentiment; just remember.  Spend this holiday season grateful that we enjoy the precious rights of peace and freedom.  May your home be filled with peace and love this season and all throughout the year.
